Laurie brings a wealth of experiencing in securing Funding/Grants and will focus on this for Wicklow Dementia Support.
Within her work environment, Laurie is the Secretary of the Diversity and Inclusion, Disabled Sub Committee. Laurie is also the Vice Chair of the Irish Association of the Welsh Pony and Cob Society, Secretary of the Wicklow Area branch of the Irish Pony Society. In addition to this Laurie has been involved in the National Water Forum since 2015 dealing with all aspects of the management and projects of Irish Water.
Laurie has personal experience of Dementia through her mother.
Volunteering as an AlzPal for Wicklow Dementia Support, Patte gained unique insight into working with those with dementia and their family carers. Patte comes from a background in publishing, public relations, fundraising and the art world. She has worked with charities here in Ireland and back in New York for over twenty years raising funds and awareness for various charities including: New York Uniformed Firefighter’s Association, Here is New York, Children’s Aid Society, Irish Famine Commemoration Fund, Save the Children and Saint Vincent De Paul. She is currently supporting and promoting Wicklow artists through Pop Up Art galleries. Patte joins us in the role of Social Media, Press Liaison and all things creative.
Aisling is an award winning business woman with a broad knowledge of finance. Her background in the financial and SME sectors along with her experience working as a CWO in the Community Welfare Service gives her a well-rounded skillset for the role of Treasurer of WDS. In the voluntary sector, Aisling is also Treasurer of the Ladies Charity Tennis League and organises inter-club tennis tournaments which continue to raise significant funds for a variety of Charities in Ireland. WDS is a charity close to her heart.
Janice has extensive voluntary experience with a focus on a number of areas: • Community – Tiglin Rehabilitation Services, Wicklow Dementia Support, Bray Area Rough Sleepers Support, Dignity Packs Ireland; Age Action Computer Classes. • Empowering Women in the workplace – Connecting Women in Technology; Dells Women’s Network • Encouraging young people to focus on a career in IT – “IT Is Not Just for Geeks” Technological Education Program for Secondary Schools; Dell Junior Achievements Co-Ordinator. • Whilst working in Dell, Janice was the Dell Ireland Giving Manager; Dell Community Team Lead and also provided Dell Project Management Training for Charities. • Janice was previously a Board Member of Nandri India.
Stephen brings a unique combination of private sector and Government experience. He has been a director of a number of successful IT companies in his career, plus has worked as a Government Special Adviser, as well as a Ministerial Communications Adviser. He has been involved with various community organisations for the past 30 years and is currently the Arklow LEA community representative on the Co Wicklow Public Participation Network Secretariat, Secretary of the Ballinaclash Community Association and a member of the Co Wicklow Joint Policing Committee. He is regularly asked to contribute to current affairs programs on Irish and British radio stations.
