Jenny has a background in social and community work at home and abroad. She has had a long term interest in elder care, in particular, in the care of people with dementia. She holds a CQSW and Diploma in Social Work and other qualifications in dementia-related care. It is her belief that quality of life, of those with dementia, can be greatly improved with informed, loving, person-centred care.
Nick has a family link with County Wicklow. He is keen to help those dealing with dementia because of his own personal experiences. Nick worked in industry as a financial executive and brings a commercial perspective to the organisation.
Volunteering as an AlzPal for Wicklow Dementia Support, Patte gained unique insight into working with those with dementia and their family carers. A full-time mother of four, Patte comes from a background in publishing, public relations, fundraising and the art world. She has worked with charities here in Ireland and back in New York for many years. Patte joins us in the role of Social Media, Press Liaison and all things creative.
Liz spent 15 years working as an officer in the Irish CountryWomen’s Association (ICA). In her later 3 years she was the National President of the organisation. Liz is now happy to use her experience gained in the ICA in administration to support the work of the Wicklow Dementia Support Team.
Harriet Conlon joins us as our Fundraising Chair with extended experience in both fundraising and Dementia care. Harriet has worked closely with Dementia and Alzheimer patients both professionally and personally. Harriet cared for both her mother and father instilling her passion for carers and Dementia Support. She has worked with St. Vincent De Paul for 12 years and fundraiser for both Saint Vincent de Paul and the Carers Association. Harriet brings her enthusiasm and energy to raise much needed funding to Wicklow Dementia is very creative ways.
